Editor's Letter

Dear Friends,

Our first newsletter for 2010 sees the New Year well and truly ushered in. It has begun with a sobering event in the form of the earthquake in Haiti which is an opportunity for us, so fortunate to be living in a country protected from such natural disasters, to dig deep and to be generous, as well as given us pause to reflect on the gifts of life we sometimes take for granted.

In this issue, Paulette Emery reflects on the opportunity a new year gives to us in “A chance to get it right”. Andrea Nathan looks at marriage in “Happily ever after”. I write a piece on fathers, “So Dads, you think you are important?”, hopefully challenging some stereotyped ideas; Sophie Tan looks at trying to instill orderliness in a two year old (Two year olds and order – a contradiction in terms?) and I include a gem of a compilation from some 16 year olds in the humour section (GCSE Gems you didn’t know…) which I defy any of you to read without cracking up. Go on, I dare you!

Happy reading!

Audrey Tan
